Center Church exists to create communities that grow together as daily disciples and love like Jesus where they are.

Our Story

What started as a small group of people meeting in houses is now a movement of communities that gather to lift up the name of Jesus. Center Church is a church of Missional Communities, and ultimately, we exist to create communities that grow together as daily disciples and love like Jesus where they are.God is at work in Southwest Denver and it is exciting to see our people grow and share their faith, some for the first time in their lives. We launched publicly on September 19th and we desire to see this movement keep on going and growing.

Jesus CENTERED. Disciple SENDING. Community IMPACTING.

Center Church exists to create communities that grow together as daily disciples and love like Jesus where they are.

Our Values

It is exclusively through our relationship with Jesus Christ that we may know God, be reconciled to God, and live our lives for God. Therefore, our theology, ministry philosophy, biblical interpretation, preaching, counseling, and outreach efforts are all centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. (Lk 24:27,44; Jn 1:1-18; 5:39,46; Gal 4:4-7; Heb 1:1-4; 2 Cor 5:14-15)

Jesus Christ is the head of this church and the Bible is His revealed Word. We submit to Christ and His Word as the final authority for all aspects of life, faith, and ministry. (Jer 9:13-16; Jn 1:1-18; Col 1:18; 1 Thess 2:13; 2 Tim 3:16-17; Heb 4:12; 2 Pet 1:16-21)

Mercy & justice

Every person has inherent value because they are made in the image of God. Therefore, we honor and value every individual by being committed to serving the marginalized and oppressed, working for the reconciliation of all races and ethnicities.  (Gen 1:27; Ps 146:9; Is 1:17; Jer 9:23-24; 22:3; Mic 6:8; Matt 25:31-46; James 2:1-7)

Biblical community

Life is meant to be lived together in a community where people know you and you know them. We are committed to praying specifically for one another, speaking the truth in love to one another, and encouraging one another in the faith. (Acts 2:44; Eph 4:15-16; Heb 10:25; James 5:16)

Kingdom expanding

Every believer is called to share the gospel and make disciples. Therefore, we devote significant spiritual and financial resources toward this end, including equipping you, sending missionaries, planting churches, and supporting outreach initiatives. (Matt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Rom 10:15; 2 Cor 8:1-7; Phil 4:15-20)

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory. (Deut. 6:4; 1 Kings 8:60; Psalm 90:1-2; Isaiah 45:5-6; Matt. 3:16-17; 16:16; 28:18-19; John 1:1-14; Luke 22:70; John 10:30; 14:10-11. 16-17; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Heb. 1:1-3; Rev. 1:4-6; Rev. 19:6).

The Bible

We believe that God has spoken in the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors. As the inspired Word of God, the Bible is without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises. I believe that this divine verbal inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of the original manuscripts – historical, poetical, doctrinal, and prophetical – so that every word is both infallible as to truth and final as to divine authority (John 10:35; 1 Cor. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:21; 3:16).

The Human Condition

We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed.Gen. 1:26-28; 2:15-25;John 3:36; Rom. 3:23; 6:23; 1 Cor. 2:14; Eph. 2:1-3; 1 John 1:8

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus—Israel’s promised Messiah—was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. Hebrews 1:1-3; 12:2

The Work of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation. 2 Cor. 5:21; Romans 5:17

Once salvation has transpired, it is eternal and unchangeable.

We believe this because of:

1. The eternal purpose of God toward the objects of His love;
2. His freedom to exercise grace toward the merit less on the ground of the atoning blood of Christ;
3. The very nature of the divine gift of eternal life;
4. The present and unending intercession and advocacy of Christ in heaven;
5. The immutability of the unchangeable covenants of God;
6. The regenerating, abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of all who are saved.(John 3: 3, 8; 5:24; 10:28; 13:1; 14:16-17; 17:11, 15; Rom. 8:29-39; I Cor. 6:19; 2 Tim.1:12; Heb. 7:25; I John 2:1-2; 5:13; Jude 1:24; ).

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of its guilt. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service. I believe that it is the Holy Spirit who performs the work of salvation in the heart of the individual believer and, that He then indwells believers and bestows spiritual gifts upon them. (John 14:16-17; 15:26; 16:7-14; Acts 5:3-4; Rom. 5:5; 1 Cor. 2:10-13; 6:19-20; 12:1-31; 2 Cor. 1:22; Eph. 4:30; 5:18; Titus 3:5; 2 Pet. 1:21; ).

The Church

We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. The true church is manifest in local churches, whose membership should be composed only of believers. The Lord Jesus mandated two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which visibly and tangibly express the gospel. Though they are not the means of salvation, when celebrated by the church in genuine faith, these ordinances confirm and nourish the believer. I believe that in accordance with the eternal purpose of God He has revealed the mystery not known prior to Christ’s first coming of His Church. Those who have placed their faith in Christ are united together immediately by the Holy Spirit in this one spiritual body, the church, of which Christ is the Head. (Matt. 16:18; Acts 2:46,47; Rom. 12:5; 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:4- 61-11; 5:25-27; Col. 1:18; Heb. 10:25).

We believe that a disciple is a student or follower of a teacher. As Christians we seek to be disciples of Jesus, growing in him both individually and corporately.

Who We Are: Individually

A saint, slave of righteousness, citizen of heaven, and child of God (John 1:12; Rom. 1:7; 6:18; 1 Cor. 1:2; Gal. 4:5-7; Phil. 3:20).

Who We Are: Corporately

The household of God, flock of God, temple of God, and body of Christ (Acts 20:28; Eph. 1:22-23; 2:21-22; 1 Tim. 3:15).
